All children, regardless of age, should use a spacer with their asthma inhalers. As you can see in the picture below, the use of a spacer ensures that more medicine reaches the lungs (instead of sitting in the mouth). Asthma medication with a spacer works much better. Our office is stocked with spacers (which we will bill to your insurance), ask your pediatrician for one when you are here.
